Communications Committee

The branch's voice — carrying our work to members, the press, and the wider Salem-Keizer community.

Purpose
“What we do only matters if the community knows it's happening — and can find us when they need us.”

The Communications Committee keeps members and the public informed — maintaining the branch's website, social channels, and press relationships, and making sure every event and position statement reaches the people it's for.

What We Do

Every message, in one voice.

  • 01

    Website & Email

Keep sknaacp.org current, and send regular updates to members about meetings, actions, and events.

  • 02

    Social Media

Run the branch's Instagram, Facebook, and X accounts — sharing events, wins, and calls to action as they happen.

  • 03

    Press & Public Statements

Draft press releases and public statements, and serve as a point of contact for local media covering branch work.

  • 04

    Event Promotion

Work with every other committee to make sure their events and deadlines actually reach members in time to act on them.
